So, what does 1 Peter 4:10 mean?

Peter is implying two things within this verse:
  1. That we should view our gifts as a gift from God.
  2. That we should view our gifts as an opportunity to serve others.
We have received our gifts through grace, and grace alone. It is by grace that we use our gifts. We serve God because God gives, not because we earn the right to be used by God.

Question: What spiritual gifts and talents do you believe God has given you?

  1. This is a tough question. I really had to analyze my life to pinpoint a few potential gifts/talents. While I do not fully trust these are necessarily my God-given gifts, I see them as strengths in my life. First, the ability to listen and provide guidance. Secondly, I feel I obtain the gift of connecting with and motivating youth. Lastly, being organized and a conscious consumer are also gifts or strengths I feel I possess!

  2. I feel like hospitality and encouragement are gifts I have.

  3. My gifts are organization and not being afraid to reach out to others.
